Hi, I'm from Feral Interactive. We've been porting games to Mac for 20 years and brought ROME: Total War to iPad last year, so if you've heard our name before that might be why! I'm just dropping by to let you know that we're working on GRID Autosport for iOS.

Here are just a few things worth knowing about the game:
  • GRID Autosport is coming to iPad and iPhone this autumn.
  • That's the whole game: 80+ cars on 100+ circuits, plus the entire collection of add-on content.
  • Pay-once-and-play. No microtransactions or in-app purchases.
  • Intuitive tilt and touch controls.
  • Full MFI gamepad support.
We released the first trailer yesterday, you can take a look on YouTube:

We don't have information on devices yet, but if you have any questions just let me know. :]

I love racing games and love playng RR3... But based on this trailer this is a different league altogether. I can't wait! Hopefully it will run smoothly on a 7+ ;)

Any hope for 5S compatibility? Also, please add a way to customize the graphics like disable shadows, lower ambient complexity, and so on. That will not only make the game accessible to older devices, but algo reduce the heat and battery consumption if the user plays for long periods of time(normally those 3D intensive games kill/drain your battery in a blink).

We don't have news on specs and graphics options at the moment, folks. I'll let you know when I can answer these questions. :]

If this is true then I will be astounded! Having a proper racing game on the iPad will be fantastic. I feel it's one of the genres that's never been properly represented on iOS. There have been some good attempts like GT Racing 2 and Real Racing 3 but a game with excellent pedigree like this AND NO ***** IN-APP PURCHASES would be head and shoulders above anything else. I would consider paying a good amount for an in-depth and highly replayable racer like this if done well - in the range £10-15 for sure. Hope it all goes smoothly for you.

@FumbleDuck What a cool message. :] Thanks, I've passed your best wishes on to the design team.

@JonnyBlaze It won't be super-soon; we want to get it looking and feeling even better than it does in that trailer. But the good news is that we're still on track for autumn.

Cool, very much appreciate the news. I noticed it had moved from green to yellow on the feral radar the other day... but I’ll try to contain myself! Many people out there I’m sure will appreciate a top quality game for a set price with no IAP. This will be instant buy on Day 1! Keep up the good work Feral, no slacking! ;)

Well, over on toucharcade forum the release date has been announced... Monday 27th November

Looked great on the livestream, exciting stuff

4GB download, 912mb for the DLC pack and 623mb for the HD textures pack, really hope this supports the X resolution, will soon find out.

Update: It does support the X resolution, nice job :)

Fully installed with all the packs this game will use 5.61GB.

This type of game is long overdue on iOS. I hope it is a success for a Feral as it deserves to be.

Worth the £10..?

So far I think so, it’s the full GRID Autosport game with no stupid in app purchases. Runs very well and looks great.

iOS really needs more premium games like this as the hardware these days is more than capable, plus I'm fed up with these "free' games bankrupt you with stupidly overpriced in app purchases.

I’ve been patiently waiting for this game to be released. Congratulation Feral! I look forward to playing soon on my iPad Pro 9.7”

I’m considering getting a controller but I don’t want to spend much money as I’m not a gamer - it will literally just be for this game - unless feral releases more Grid & Dirt games for iOS ;) hint hint!!

It seems Mad Catz CTRLi is the cheapest and SteelSeries Nimbus which appears to be popular on M.R. is on special at my local store (30% off) but only until midnight (~1 hour left!) and even though it is on special I’m not sure I want to spend that much on a controller just for one game! Also I don’t want to rush in and buy before I have had a chance to try the game without a controller. Dilemmas!! ;)

Thanks very much!

Will this have the iPhone X resolution from the start @EllieFeral ?, if so it's an instant buy for me.

Yes. :]

Also could you give any details on frame rate? Looks a bit choppy..?

Framerate on the live stream was a bit hither and thither because of the streaming software. Check the game out for yourself and let me know how it feels!

Thank you, we really appreciate that!

Thank you... and hint taken! :D

Any chance of Apple TV support in the future? I realise there may be performance limitations with the current hardware of course.
