On my old acer laptop it had a program called grid vista which would allow you to align windows in a grid which would help for example if your typing one thing in neooffice and reading a website in another window, this will put them side by side and make them both easy to read. is there anyway to do this for free in mac osx?

I'm guessing no but OSX windows can be lined up so snug and tight that you can resize it so they can both be visable....thats one of the reasons why the windows are slim in OSX.
