Audiophiles?

atleast with my itrip sure the sound isnt super high quality. I think alot of times if you have the volume turned up you overload the maybe transistors in the itrip and it sounds like garbage, but lets face it, this is a portable way to listen to your ipod in any standard radio. Plus it looks cooler than most other fm transmitters on the ipod. sure there are better solutions and I will list them in order of what would be highest quality:

1. The BMW solution - but who has enough $$$ for that, if you did buy the itrip anyways
2. The alpine solution - has to be good, dont know of anyone with it or when it will release
3. Stereo inputs from an 1/8th inch plug
4. the itrip or other fm transmitter
5. somewhere in there would be the tape, but I dont have a tape deck, and I never liked the background noise these things made

I specially specified my car with a cassette player only so I could link my iPod by tape adaptor. However I really wanted a more neat solution. The ice link below seems the one to go for. Not sure how avaliable these are outside the UK but have a look.

I will be buying one early next year. I'm not doing enough miles here in Stockholm to justify it, the public transport is too good.
