I've tried changing this a few times and it doesn't seem to be doing anything (either that, or Growl works funky in Lion)?
Can anybody explain what it does? Tried looking around and don't see much documentation on it.

It probably allows you to choose which screen the notifications display on if you are using multiple monitors.
