Soooo I sent in my MBP a few weeks back because the bottom case began to bow and it had covered my superdrive so the superdrive could not be used. They had a hold on my repair for several days and did not tell me, luckily i checked the status and called them right away. When I called I was told that the techs had noted some physical damage, the bowing, and i would probably have to pay for the repair because it would not be covered. I told the rep how ridiculous it was that physical damage that apple techs themselves said was caused by putting my PALM on the PALM REST would not be covered and he quickly sided with me and approved the repair under warranty. I also noted before I sent it in that one of the fans was making a strange noise. Monday I got the computer back. Of course, I boot it up and first thing I hear is this fan making the same exact noise, but twice as loud. Goody. I was holding off on calling because I actually wanted a couple days to use my computer before having to send it back in again. Today I notced that the far right side of the screen was severely bent upwards. I know that the screen on all MBPs is bent slightly, but this is ridiculous. You can see this when its not closed(now that I know to look for it) so it has nothing to do with the latch mechanism. So, this clearly happened at the repair depot. I am so angry that this is happening. I will probably go a month without my computer, mostly due to the techs stupidity/carelessness. If there are any issues with this repair, I will not hang up the phone until I am given a 100% new computer. I am just venting, but coincidentally my sister had taken her macbook in to the store and they created more issues with it while they had it. Tey claim to be fixing it now, but who knows. ugh.

Karpfish, I feel for ya. I had a titanium that when sent in was in perfect shape, and then when I got it back the outside and inside of the casing was scratched badly and filthy. They replaced the entire housing in my computer, but only because of the tone of the letter I sent. It was a delicate balance, and some high-level guy called me and gave me a special code. But it all happened because of the letter (and my incredible luck). I hope it works out for you. Apple can be fantastic even when they screw up if you go at them the right way. Hang in.
