Gruber from daring fireball just posted on his Twitter that WWDC will be announced officially tomorrow! Crazy, right in the middle of all this Gizmodo scandal.

I wonder if Apple advanced the date of the announcement (not necessarily the announcement date - yes, there is a difference) in order to minimize the damage that the iPhone 4 leak has likely caused them.

I hope they do it a little earlier. Even if they take a while to release it, I would like to know what we are looking at here. :D

I think you're meaning that they advanced the date of announcing wwdc date, but not that they are advancing wwdc, right?? Maybe I'm slow, but I had to think over your post for a while to figure it out. It's possible that they are worried about losing momentum.

What's the difference? Not getting it.

What damage, other than to Steve's ego?

Certainly not any competitive damage - it took the shine off several competitor launches, provided huge media coverage equivalent of millions of dollars in free advertising, and didn't reveal any features for competitors weren't already aware of because Apple were silly enough to leave strings referring to them all in the SDK 4.0 beta OS.

As was said I wish they'd just get it done with. Take two months to get the phone available, I don't care, I just want to know what we can start looking forward to.

Did you mean "not necessarily the announced date"? Because what you wrote does not make the distinction you think it does, at least not in English.

I wonder if the international release of the iPad will push the iPhone's release back?

Wait I don't get it, please stick to the topic. All they are going to do tommowrow is announce the dates of all the press conferences right?

Yes, just the announcement of when WWDC will take place. I'm just confused if by 'tomorrow', he meant today, because this was tweeted a little after midnight.

what he is saying is that the date to announce the date of the WWDC was moved up, not the date of the confrence itself, I think.

Seeing as it's only 2 months away, it'd be nice for them to announce it so that those of us that are going can plunk down our $1300 + airfare + hotel sooner rather than later.

Since he tweeted that after midnight I hope it's today and not tomorrow, but what's one more day?
