So I am in a pickle right now. Ordered both phones, $430 USD for the S6 and $590 for the Note 5. The S6 offers me a better form factor especially since I will be using my 6S Plus as my daily driver.

The Note 5 has better specs, like an additional GB of RAM, having a bigger screen, more battery life, the Stylus, and more software features.

The S6 offers me a smaller device I can use when I head to the gym too, an IR blaster, a better form factor, a sharper display (aka more PPI in this case), a better colored device (black only available for the Note 5 whereas I got a Gold GS6).

I think the Note 5 would lag less, but idk how bad is the RAM management since I only used the device for a week. Battery life is important, but I charge my devices every night, so I just need to get through 12-16 hrs.

    Any advice?

S6, it is great device and significantly cheap for a secondary device. If it was a primary I would say Note. Both have fast charging and that is a killer featire

S6 pales compared to the S6 Edge Plus and Note 5...

There is a huge speed and smoothness difference, while the S6/Edge will drop frames, hiccup and reload apps constantly, the Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus does not.

Battery life is also 30-40% better in the larger device.

You'll want to spring for the Edge Plus or Note 5 if you want a secondary device...

But shouldn't it be butter smooth with those specs? (S6)

You'd think so but nope, different experience. The S6 standards also run very hot. Samsung certainly tweaked things both software and internal design, and the larger phones maintain smoothness and run much cooler.

I have both phones and my gs6 runs cold and flys.if I were to say it actually runs smoother because there is no extra processes running for the stylus

Here is my gs6 and I have yet to come close to these numbers on my note 5

I don't have that issue with my S6 Edge. It basically runs flawless.

But I still agree, too many reported RAM issues which I seen first hand on my friend's S6 Edge. I would tell anyone not to chance it.

    Yea... benchmarks are pointless...

The S6 Edge (I owned 2) I've owned redrew and resprung and dropped frames all around the interface, from pulling down notification menu to opening app drawer ...

It also reloaded apps after 3 were open. Limit of multitasking was 3 apps open.

The S6 Edge plus doesn't drop frames, redraw or reload apps until about 6 apps. Much more fluid and useable.

I don't have any redraws and can get about 5 to 6 apps active on my gs6.

Well, you rooted and modded your phone, so you do have a unique GS6... build.prop edited?

One stock, GS6 only holds 3 apps in memory.

Stock build prop, stock rom.only used root to freeze apps in titanium and that build prop hack does absolutely nothing.it made my phone worse
