And what exactly are your clamoring to get in Oreo? I have seen no features in Oreo that will change my life. It is being tested. When its ready, it will be made available.
I was using Apple for several prior devices and it was annoying getting so many point releases. Then when you got a quick update, many of the Apps weren't yet updated, and if they were you had a whole pile of app updates to do too. I am not lacking any features I need at this point, so stability to me is as important as having the "latest", when the "latest" has nothing of substance in it.
My Note 8 has more usable features that provide tangible value than anything Oreo is adding, so I'll take that over having the "latest". Clearly having the latest, without regard to what the latest does for you, is most important. So go with iOS, which is the best way to always have the latest.
