We all remember the 9400M 15" mbp, 2010 brought something good with the 330M.

Now i have seen the new Nvidia mobile gpus and the GT 520M really doesnt look any good, its being compared to the intel gpu.

Do people really think the 520M will be used in the mbp, the 525M looks like a much better card.

Don't worry we'll see the 525m if we get a 500m series card. It has the same TDP as the 425m and 330m.

Btw there is no 530m. It jumps from 525m to 540m.

Nvidia is a little bit inconsistent with their naming scheme.
A 160 was replaced by a 240 which was replaced by 330 which was paper replaced by a 420/425. Now you would guess 520 is the next in line but it is not.
520M is basicly an onboard GPU or office class GPU. The 525M is the true 330M successor. 335 was even replaced by the 540 so it seems they changed direction.
The next successor is probably 650 or something ;).

Look at the TDP. 525 has 96 shader cores which are pretty much the same as the 400M series architecure which never really made it to market and it is a quite nice card with probably a lot of overclocking headroom has it is the lowest clocked GF108. Still I wouldn't rule out a switch to AMD GPUs.

I see apple using AMD for the 15" & 17" at least the high end 15" and 17"

I would like to see that. I have read the newer ATI cards with the same TDP are performing very well. Much better then the NV competition.

With that said aren't the 200 series and 300 series NV parts the same anyways. Wasn't it really just a paper upgrade.
