I just got GTA 4 for PC and installed it on my Macbook Pro 13" base model mid 09, and some of the settings are choppy on the system, does any one know how to get optimal settings on it for my system or what they are?

Thanks

GTA IV is very poorly optimized. Your best bet will be to set the resolution no higher than 1024x768, dynamic shadows and reflections off, and most settings on medium. I had those same settings, except 1920x1200, on my '09 MBP17" -- and it was only barely playable.

The only problem is your MBP is probably about 2.66ghz with a better graphics card than the 13". so it looks like I have to go to the lowest settings. Im on the lowest settings now and I still get a low frame rate after 3 mins of playing.

GTA IV is very CPU intensive and is optimized for quad cores so a c2d isn't ideal. Add to that a weak GPU and you are going to suffer I'm afraid.

ok well I can manage to play it on extremely low graphics and its seems to be fine. When it starts to lag on me I just have to change it to 1024x768 and it seems fine, then if that starts laging I change it back to 800x600.
