Is this using Panther SDL2? I see a filepath to SDL 2.0.3 in the binary, if your using the original Xcode compiler (I think you are, I only see the system shipped libgcc referenced) you might be able to compile this to run on 10.3.9 with the -mmacosx-version-min=10.3 cflag.

Thanks for embedding the error report. It looks like it tries to convert textures after comparing to the data/caps.dat file. Make sure you have it, if not, make sure you started the game at least once on Windows.

I currently have no other choice but to get the installed files via Wine since I do not have a Windows installation right now on my computer. I've installed GTA III v1.1 via Wine and it runs fine on my Mac Pro 2008 on Mojave. I made sure to start a new game and I noticed that upon launching a new game the caps.dat file in the data directory is created (wasn't there before when I first tried it) Again I put the program files (i.e. the installation folder created by Wine) into the .app file and tried to run it on my PowerBook G4. No luck, same issue as before. Is there anything else I have to pay attention to or use a specific version of GTA III in order to get it to run? Thanks again for your help!

I replaced the file and now it just seems stuck at the loading screen (but without trying to convert any textures). Unfortunately it still does not go to the menu.

I've tried two different RIPS of GTA III and have not found success. I got a bit further in loading it by renaming directories and files, changing their capitalization. I strongly believe this is broken on case-sensitive filesystems (which I have on my Leopard iBook). Going to see if the Mac mini G4 on Tiger (I belive to be case insensitive) has any better luck. I have confirmed my RIPs load in wine in Fedora and seem to work perfectly. My best chance with this tho is the 1.5GB RAM 1.33GHz G4 iBook with an OpenGL 2.0 GPU (Radeon 9550).

I'd like to figure out how to make a SM64EXLC like GUI. That only requires a USA or JAPAN ROM file, which is selected in the GUI Finder window. Then it extracts the data and compiles the SM64EX port into a portable redistributable SM64EX.app on the Desktop of the Mac. Of course with this, we can have a compiled version in the app and just extract the data to where it belongs.

Hi, Great work! I tried it on my powermac g5 quad with a nvidia 7800 GT and leopard 10.5.8. It shows the splash screen then when the menu should pop up it immediatly crashes not sure if i messed up on the instalation files or if its a problem with my system. I included the crash report idk if it will help you guys or not. I wish i knew about coding i am only good with hardware.

It's going to be a little hard, since Grand Theft Auto 1 wasn't released for Mac originally.
Pretty sure this release isn't ready yet. Give it some time.

I've tested this on my G4 1.33Ghz running 10.4.11, I was almost there (in the menu) but an error showed up.. I collected some info..

Steps:

1) I've downloaded my copy from Steam, executed one time in my PC, then exited, copied it onto Contents/MacOS (without replacing), the game loaded but it crashed at certain port,

2) I Copied the CAPS.DAT on the data folder, but it crashed the game and the OS, I was forced to reboot the machine, so that solution did not work

3) running manually on terminal showed an explicit error:

Hi, starts without issue with the latest release on my PowerBook g4 - 1.83ghz Radeon 9700 on tiger, but glitches massively and performance are sub par. This is expected as per description, good to see it going tho! I will try with the g5 on leopard soon
