Now that Cindori and Netkas have roms to make the 6870 and EFI play ball, I was wondering if it was worth the upgrade from a 1GB Nvidia GTX 285.

Other than direct X 11 support in windows is there any real performance advancement ? Or is it so close it wouldnt warrant the cost ?

Also on the Mac side, is CUDA better on the GTX285 ?

Thanks for the info - appreciate your answers in advance.

I'm only speaking of the Mac Side of usage. CUDA is by nVidia, therefore there is no CUDA on the AMD 6870.

The GTX 285 is the best GFX Card for After Effects and other OpenGL/CUDA applications out there on the mac side at the moment.

Is that an option Cindori ? I was unaware. Is there any thing I should look for especially (manufacturer/ram restrictions ? )

Hm, reading the instructions and comments there leads me to believe that this is barely working at the moment, and probably shouldn't be recommended to people yet.
