Plus a beer or two to wash it down with!

Dam you're making me hungry! It was just jacket potatoes and beans and cheese this evening.

Of course this requires a beer of two to wash it down......that is what sets it off best.

I daresay that there is a case for arguing that this is pure rubbish - but it is brilliant pure rubbish.....

Ugh. Seriously, avocado, onion, tomato, jalapeno, a little dash of coarse salt, a squeeze of lime ... and some PLAIN chips :) Not green powder .... :D

But they are delicious, aren't they?

If I told you that my dad just loved cocktail sausages served thus, (and yes, it brings back happy memories - he also loved good Italian wine in excellent Italian restaurants when dining with me) - I mean, really loved, well, what can I say?

A basket of piping hot, sweet, sticky, dark brown, cocktail sausages prompts greed and brings back cheerful memories, the sort that produce a greedy grin and happy smile.

Well the sort of sausages we have don't quite drum up the same emotions!

The guacamole was never good. I was never a fan of the cooler ranch either. The fiery habanero was always great when they made it. Last year, I picked up a bag of, I don't recall the brand, but the flavor was an organic hatch chili and caramelized onion which was very good. The faint sweetness from the onion fooled you until the heat set in. Tapatio is great as well. You lose feeling in your mouth after a handful, but that's fine. Lay's/Walker's did a chip maybe six years ago that was like eating tomato basil soup. Walker's ketchip chips, only found in Canada, are delicious, too.

I've never had cocktail sausages in caramelized onions. I personally don't like cocktail sausages except in a few forms, but that does sound very delicious. Looks like I'll be trying it out this weekend.

You're not one of those vegans, are you?

Edit: Can't forget salt and vinegar chips. Nothing can beat it!

No not a vegan. Not even a vegetarian. But as someone who has to eat a low fat diet the sausages we have are quarn.
However on the bright side, I'm 60lbs lighter than I used to be!

Sorry, @Apple fanboy; quorn sausages do not count as 'sausages', and most certainly, do not merit the description of the word sausage; get a proper butcher's sausage and treat yourself occasionally.

Doritos are gross. Not as gross as Fritos, but still gross.

Spoiled in S. California, where real tortilla chips are readily available. (Everywhere but 7-11...)

The main component of any Doritos/Fritos flavor is... salt.

1) I'm not in southern California.

2) Salt and junk food are - on occasion exactly what you need; there are evenings you do not wish for the healthy option, but, instead, crave the "gross" unhealthy one, lashings of salt and all......

Amen and well said. Must find some pork scratchings tomorrow!

My healthy but naughty snack is probably pretzels. Preferably dipped in melted butter flavored with minced garlic. Portion control is key. I find half a kilo of pretzels in a sitting is just enough. And a crisp ale. Nothing too strong. We want to watch our calories of course.

Doritos are good, but these are my favorite:

Specifically Hot Buffalo Wing, Jalapeno, and Honey Mustard & Onion. Very addictive.

I don't like it when people bake eggs into their avocados. So much new age dining crap.

Currently snacking on some sweet chilli pepper Doritos (with a drink) and I do not care how unhealthy they are; tonight, they are divine and "hit that spot" that craves something seriously addictively tasty and profoundly unhealthy.

Enjoy. I'm glad you were able to get hold of some in your current location. Any dip?

No, alas.

That is real luxury - although, I am sure that if I approached some of the kitchen staff, they might be willing to accommodate me, as they did make fresh, homemade, guacamole for my boss - she left me an almost full bowl a few weeks ago.

Mind you, I do have pesto in my fridge - and I did buy olive oil just to keep my pesto nice and air-tight. So, yes, I do have pesto - which can be used as a dip, (not used this evening) and I do have tapenade - which is also open to this fate.
