I just updated to 10.7.2 and now whenever I'm on a lock screen (after being asleep or off) there is an icon for the goest account. When i turn on this is annoying because I have to click my user icon rather than just being able to type in my password. At one point sharing was enabled for the guest account but I turned that off and made sure the Guest account was completely disabled (it is) but it still appears.

Anyone have any idea how to get rid of it?

Thanks

It's related to the new Find My Mac feature of iCloud. It's not an actual guest account - logging into it opens a Safari window running from the recovery partition and nothing else (presumably so if your computer is stolen it is likely to be used, thus allowing Find My Mac to work). Turning off Find My Mac will stop it from appearing; some people are also reporting success by going into System Preferences -> Security and Privacy -> CHECK the box next to Disable restarting to Safari when screen is locked.

Thanks for the response..great info!

If that's the case then I might leave it enabled as it's worthwhile if my laptop was to disappear!

Too bad. I'd like to enable Find my Mac but I hate having this Guest account too much. :(

Reread what Ivan said in post #2. It is not a guest account. Try and you will see. It reboots to the recovery partition and starts Safari. It is there so a thief will hopefully use it to access the Internet so your computer will show up on Find my Mac. If you don't want to see this option, Ivan explained how to turn it off.

OMG!! Thanks, I read his post too fast. His workaround works.

Dear All simple and easy this is the best way no need to disable or turn off the find my mac. just go to the apple logo/systempreference/Users and groups/login option/ on the middle part you can see the display login window as choose name and password instead of list of users.
