Please Help Me :)

Hi. You all seem very helpful. I hope someone is still checking this thread, as I could really use some help. Two problems...

1: I tried doing this without a thumbdrive initially and cloned it to my external HD. Then, when that didn't work, I began to run a clone onto my HD but quickly decided against that. Now, I would like to remove all of what cloned to my external HD and my HD and don't know how to do it.

2: Got a thumbdrive. initial problems were because it wasn't partitioned correctly. Have since solved that problem. Am now getting this error message: Installing OS X on unsupported machines. (From restore discs that came with another system)

Any chance anyone knows what to do about either of these? If I had to choose one over the other, would rather have help with the 2nd issue. But will take whatever help anyone can offer.

I am not a programmer. I am a graphic designer and incredibly talented at following directions (makes for a good cook/baker also... ha!). I followed everything to the letter. Everything executed as described, save the Distribution file portion. It wouldn't extract to my Packages folder (tried all case forms, to no avail). It was, however; easily found on my computer and followed with all the steps thereafter. :)

I have done this 4 times since the thumbdrive was reformatted/partitioned (7 if you count the times prior to formatting, and 10 if you count the times prior to thumbdrive)... I could probably do this in my sleep now...

Please help before I go much more insane. :)
