Tough one. I think you should enjoy life. Why feel guilty?

That said, I really am sort of a fan of the Miami Heat (I live in Miami). Although my main team is my hometown, Knicks. That's closest I can think of now. Not embarrassed just have to be able to troll my wife and father.

Hate to say it but this thread has been kind of lame. It seems like people feel too guilty to share their actual guilty pleasure.

That being said I don't think I've had an actual guilty pleasure since I stopped eating 1,000 calorie+ desserts.

But I do feel guilty after finishing a Talenti Double Dark Chocolate pint since it has ~100 grams of sugar. Too delicious to eat a serving! Wouldn't do that with B&J but I don't eat most store ice cream brands.

See Post# 9 for a guilty pleasure. Mickey Rourke is so bad most folks avoid his stuff like the plague. If I had any taste at all...I would ,too. That's what makes it a guilty pleasure.

What about Mickey Rooney? :)

Star Trek. But I can guess by my username that you all could guess that one.

Music: I Hate rap, but I like listening to eminem on rare occasion
Movies: I cried during the opening sequence of Disney's Tarzan.
Books: I enjoyed James Patterson's romance novels, "Suzanne's Diary for Nicolas" and "Sam's Letters to Jennifer"

I'm exposed now. Laugh.

It is highly illogical to consider any pleasure that you derive from Star Trek as rendering you "guilty" in any way. Except, perhaps, "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" or "Star Trek V: The Final Frontier."

It's because NPR and jazz are, apparently, old fart stuff.

I think ts important to consider the relativistic nature of "Guilty Pleasures."

Take, for instance, the HBO show Game of Thrones. There is no "guilty pleasure" in me watching it: GoT is the hippest, most-watched, most-talked about drama on American cable television.

But if, by way of contrast, I was a lecturer in philosophy at Pantheon-Sorbonne University in Paris: then watching Game of Thrones would qualify as a "guilty pleasure" of the highest order. Its an example of crass Anglo-American popular culture. Pulp fiction writ large on the small screen and pumped into half a billion living rooms. Plaisir coupable magnifique!

Another: I really like old, burnt coffee.

And I prefer Burger King to McDonalds

AAARRRRGGGGGHHHH!

if its "guilty" to only listen to three dog night, ac/dc, the beatles, steve miller band, and some other old stuff, then thats mine. that or the fact that i am really into the 50's 60's and 70's. again... thats not really a "guilty pleasure"

I don't think that's a guilty pleasure.

Now, loving "Muskrat Love"...THAT"S a guilty pleasure!

I like my meijer brand coffee :p

Sorry, I don't know what that is...but if you like it...great.

A suggestion...if you can manage it financially, try a really high grade, freshly roasted and ground (if you don't have a grinder) coffee from a specialty store using whatever method of coffee production that you use, just to test it out.:D

Always try to do that when possible.

You really ought to have a different title: "macrumors Coffee Evangelist."

I hope Andi picks the right guy. From the beginning, JJ seemed to be it but he got kicked off.

This season's named villain isn't really a villain so it's made it less interesting. As much as they try to edit this season they couldn't find a contestant we all have to hate. I know it's mostly fake other than when Eric, a contestant/actor, got killed after he got kicked off in a extreme sports accident. The rest of the cast and crew were devastated and this is probably the only real emotion that was caught on camera.

I still love reality TV even if a certain scene from the Osbournes was redone 14 times after Jack spilled the beans or that the second season of People's Court (after they found real cases all the time didn't hold viewers) hired two law students from my law school class which proudly plays it back each year in Contracts for laughs. Probably my favorite thing to do is to find just how many SAG card LA actors got their start on the Dating Game or similar show. After all, it's the entertainment business and I am entertained by the Bachelorette. :)

I know there are real issues in the world, and real suffering, but watching reality TV doesn't mean I don't pay attention. I don't see it a lot differently that rooting for Bay Area teams in sports. They are both paid handsomely!
