i love 5 gum, but i love the tactile feedback (never thought i would say that about gum!) on the smaller, fatter sticks.

Not a regular chewer. I don't know why, but I can't see myself really getting into it. In my mind, it's so American.........like cargo shorts. Oh sorry, and it's also "so Canadian"......same difference.

I am Canadian, so I guess I should start. Why not just have mints? Tic Tacs are good, no?

I haven't been able to chew gum for about 2 and a half hears because of my braces.

Chewing gum has been linked to night time teeth grinding. People who constantly chew gum have a greater risk of grinding their teeth while they sleep. It has something to do with it being habitual so your brain makes you grind ur teeth cuz it thinks it's chewing gum... something like that. My dentist told me.

Oh... I don't chew gum. It makes me get a headache.

Actually, chewing gum is bad for your tempromandibular joint (TMJ). When you chew gum too much it will cause your muscles to tighten and actually make you clench your teeth at night, but could also make you grind. I am a gum addict and now have to wear a nightguard at night because I clench so bad. And you stated that it gives you a headache, well this is why! It all has to do your TMJ and over use of it.

(I have been a registered dental assistant for 4 1/2 yrs, so I am not just talking out of my a$$ here! :) )

I don't chew gum much, only to freshen/clean my mouth after eating.

I like the 5 gum, except its so expensive.

My other choice is Orbit, first the kind in the silver box, then the blue box.
Sorry I don't remember the names.

When school's in session, I usually go through a pack a week of random packs of cheap gum (dentyne, excel, etc..)

I stay away from Aspartame as best as possible... Here in Canada most of the gum packs are labeled with "Aspartame" and other artificial ingredients. So I am troubled to find something in the local convenience store.

I am no way saying this in a 'smug' way. As I don't consider myself to be a health food guy at all.

That being said, when I do cave and get gum... It's usually BigRed or Juicy Fruit.

Hmm... Not much of a gum chewer beside the occasional offer of gum. But if i had a choice of gum, i would go for the sugar gums.

What Sugar Gums? They don't exist, all you can get is stuff with Artificial Sweeteners, which are worse for you then the sugar in the first place.

Any sugar free gum I can get my hands on. Usually Juicy Fruit. I chew a lot of it. Helps me to not eat between meals.

You realize Juicy Fruit isn't sugar free right? Not that thats a bad thing. It has Sugar, AND Aspartame, and Sucralose. Why they need two artificial sweeteners AND sugar is beyond me.

yeah i actually have the same prob. My dentist told me my x-rays are similar to those of someone wearing braces, (which i don't have) because of chewing lots of gum... But regular spearmint works good.
