I can tell you that the current inventory of the 13-inch M3 MacBook Air is extremely low.

This is the one I’m considering replacing my M1 Pro with. The 15” display might not be as fully featured but my eyesight really appreciates the extra real estate.

I bought a MBP M4 16” last fall to replace my M1 MBP 14”, wanted the bigger screen, and weight was not a problem since it was going to sit at home. I have since changed situation’s and am looking at the MacBook Air 13” M4 for portability reasons since I need a computer that can can easily be lugged around. Looking forward to the air release.

Fingers crossed they announce the new MBA on Wednesday, even if they make us wait a week or two to buy one.

You need to check the memory pressure, that is a better indicator of usage than the swap file size.

Can we just stop supporting Gurman in any way? “It’s coming tomorrow…wait…next week…wait again…next month! I promise it’s coming, keep me relevant so I make money off of speculating!”

The air will come eventually, we don’t need an unreliable speculator to tell us this.

Will upgrade M2 15" MBA 16gb memory and 512gb hd to M4 15" MBA 24gb memory and 1TB hd on first price dip after launch. So if launch in March, by June should work out.

The M4 is really the only
Change you can count on, there are rumors of the wide view camera that was introduced on the M4 MBP.

Yeah, I was lucky, the M1 Air works for me, because I have a single 44" display attached to the dock, everywhere else in the company it is 2 24" or 27" displays, but "lucky" for the users, they are all on Windows.
You can run two displays with an M1 with the proper dock. I do. That’s why I’ll be holding out for the M5, which is looking to be a beast.

Must just be March for marketing and timeline differentiation reasons

I can’t understand any other reason it would take so long to pump out a chip swap
Most other hardware companies do a chip swap every year for their whole lineup all at once. As soon as new chips are available they take advantage of them.

It seems that Apple is using the old man’s dripple approach 😂 and spread it out over a couple of years. It looks like they’re innovating and firing on all cylinders but when you actually look what has changed, it’s the bare minimum and not even with the latest tech (screens, Bluetooth, modem, WiFi, SSD, etc.) available on the market but at a premium price.

Can’t wait to replace my good old 15 inch mid-2015 MBP with this M4 Air. Hoping for a 32 GB RAM option.
I've recently upgraded 256 GB SSD to 1 TB in my 15'' 2015 MacBook Pro for only 95$ (Samsung 970 Evo Plus SSD) and I hope it'll give few more years for that wonderful device.

I can understand why you would say that, but at least for me, I'm already hitting disk swap (around ~12 GB worth). I do programming, virtual machines, and some graphic design, and 16 GB is just not enough for me anymore.

I actually only have 8GB in my M1 Air, and it’s still blazing fast doing all of those things. Just not all at the same time 😉

Would I be better off with 16GB? Yes, undoubtedly. But I doubt there’d be any noticeable difference in going to 24 or 32GB.

Yes, more RAM makes the Mac more future proof. However Apple’s RAM upgrades are so insanely expensive that I genuinely believe you are better off just saving your money and instead upgrading more often.
