I know how to save flash video feeds from most of the videos sites like youtube and hulu, but this page really beats me.

I tried to use Safari and Firefox. Safari's "Activity" and Firefox's "Page Info" cannot show the flash URL. The "Flash and Video Download" add-on for Firefox cannot capture the flash either. I even looked into all the possible tmp and cache folders and didnt find anything.

I am just lured to find out there is a way to crack this down.

    Any opinions? Thanks :apple:

At the top right of the page, there is a youtube button. Click that and you can find the same video on that page and capture it.

    Thanks AndyMoore:

    I will check it.

    And Thanks ScoobyMcDoo:

the problem is not I need to download the video per se but I want find out a way to crack all these web flashes. I want an universal solution. It seems this page was really a challenge but finally, i used Safari's inspector and in Resources --> Other, i found an XML file:

    http://wac.1DF5.edgecastcdn.net/001DF5/cds/public/ucla/electronic/9/0/134990.xml

and look into that xml you will find the flv URL.

I really do not understand -- why so deliberately hide the URL so deep? I guess it's the aspx dynamic page that helped them

Now here the real problem is: what I want is an universal flash downloader (for Mac, of course) - intercepts any *.flv and *.swf no matter how cunningly deep they are buried.

    Any recommendations? Thanks

What do I need if i want to download all embedded videos from any kind of webpage?

I constantly want to download a clip for later viewing. I know how to do this with youtube and some other major video sites (realplayer downloader will do)

But some websites have been designed to hide their video (desperately or not) URL in a way softwares like realplayer downloader cannot detect the video. Now consider the page referred in:

    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1120593&highlight=

Manually analyzing the webpage may eventually reveal the URL but that's very inefficient.

I am wondering if there are a few softwares -- in together they can handle any kind of web clips embedded in any kind of webpage (like this one - an ASPX dynamic page) -- and automatically show you a list of video objects which you can download? I don't expect a single software can handle all the webpages but I guess a few software in collection should be able to do that.

    Any ideas? Thanks a lot!
