I'm don't remember which version of iPad I'm running, all I know is that I jailbroke it with the tethered redsn0w about 6 months ago. I have also kept my my iTunes software up to date but not updating my iPad, of course. The tethered aspect of the jailbreak did not scare me as it was very rare that I ever had to restart the iPad. This afternood I performed a "complete Cydia upgrade" which required me to reboot my iPad. I figured this should not pose a problem and I could perform the tethered reboot using redsn0w. My problem is that when I run redsn0w, the previous ipsw firmware file is gone from the iPad software updates folder. Why? Also, Itunes also does not recognize my iPad since it is trying to reboot, so my iPad is currently in limbo. Is there any way to find the ipsw? If not, is there anyway for iTunes to recognize my iPad to perform a restore? Thanks.
