Hack region on DVD Player

Hi all,

I searched around for this in the forum and found something from last year but with no responses.

Anyone out there know a good way to hack the region code in the DVD Player software? I tried watching a DVD in VLC and that only worked for the title screens for some reason. I couldn't actually watch the film that way. I've heard things about changing the firmware, but didn't find anything recently. I'm on a MacBook Pro running Yosemite. Thanks all!

The region code is difficult to bypass - it sits within the DVD drive and is very difficult to get around.
