That's not spending 5 months, that would be "a few hours" so you're making up your own story now.
The article didn't say they "spent" 5 months on it, it said they "worked for" 5 months on it, there's a difference in that wording. If someone said "I have been working out for the last 5 months and have lost 50 pounds" does that mean they are saying they were working out all day every single day for the last 5 months, or would it more likely mean that they have been working out at various points for various periods of time in the last 5 months? Sure, in the sense I'm talking about, it would probably be more accurate to perhaps say something like "over a period of 5 months", but saying "for 5 months" certainly can and often does carry the same kind of meaning as well.

Well why don't you contact that crew and ask them. Seems pretty clear it was several people spending several hours over several months... All adds up to... A waste of time.

Perhaps in the opinions of some, while not others.

lets see here...

Apple introduces a "anti theft" in iCloud, everyone raves about, and a "foot hold" for everyone else implementing the same....

Now, the same thing that's designed for prevention is now attacked...

Ironic ? I doubt it....

I would have hoped the same set of security and encryption that has bee so heavily been done in iOS at every single strange of transmission , a bit of extra thought here would have gone a long way too with Activation Lock.

Doesn't matter if its on a device, or outside the phone..... if its attacked, then its a weak point.

The only thing i left laughing at was "Windows" was still affected... :)

If it's attacked doesn't mean that it's a weak point, a lot of things are attacked. If it's not secure enough as it should be then yes, but it stands up to the attack then it's fine, and if it's quite secure bit something is found over time to exploit something somewhere to bypass it or exploit it then it means it should be looked at and better secured, hopefully quickly.

They're claiming that they have a server that can do this, and do it remotely. They claim to have unlocked 30,000 iPhones because they are putting this server online every night for an hour, and it processes requests from all over the globe. That way, they help criminals everywhere by unlocking stolen iPhones. You could justify it from an ecological perspective - otherwise the phones would be useless. They don't feel guilty at all, claiming that it's Apple that should get its act together.

Yes, because clearly a group of random hacker kiddies looking for attention is a perfectly valid source of information. I totally believe them.

Perhaps because you lack to see the value provided by their research.

Sounds like they just wanted attention from Apple. Maybe a job or something. When they didn't get it, they went public. Except nobody cared. Except 2 people on a rumor forum.

Maybe you read too much into it and contrive conspiracy theories.
