Why not buy a sim on ebay for $1 from the carrier that your iphone is locked to? This way you can activate offically and not have any push or youtube issues etc...
If he wanted to activate legitimately, he would not want to know how to HACK activation.

I know, Im just giving him another option besides HACK activation.
Its well worth the money spend and he could use that sim to activate any time he needs to restore or rejailbreak his device.
Hactivation has many downsides.

The SIM doesn't have to be active. Just a carrier SIM.
Also, perhaps he didn't know about the deactivated SIM option.
Yeah actually I tried the SIM thing. See, the phone is locked to Bell (I'm in Canada) so I went to the Bell store and got a SIM card that was never used but when I put it in the phone, it still said "No SIM". I know that the SIM card reader in the phone is not faulty because it will read other SIM cards from Rogers, Telus, etc, and say that they are not compatible.

I donno, I tried restoring back to a sn0wbreeze 4.1 yesterday and have been having some trouble but I'll give it another few shots today. Thanks for the help gents.

sn0wbreeze sucks and is very buggy.
I wouldnt advise anyone to use it. Find a custom IPSW created with pwnage. There should be plenty online.
