Ok, so I bought my last iMac about 3-4 months ago over the phone with Apple. The saleswoman was very nice and she actually let me haggle a bit on the price. I ended up saving like 14% due to price matching and lack of tax.
The question i have for you guys, do you think they would do this in the apple store? I want to get a Macbook Pro today/tomorrow, but paying retail + tax seems foolish when I can get one on Amazon for $150 cheaper and no tax... so a large savings. I also like buying in the store, cause it lets me feel all geeky inside.
I've also found someone on Craigslist who's selling a new one for about $400 less than apple + no taxes, but I'm leery of street trades.
Any thoughts or experiences on in-store haggling?
