There are actually over 3,025,247 posts now. The 3,000,000 post contest closed last week when we reached 3 million so 2,980,316 is a bit out
True but those extra posts (above the 2,984,178+ cited on the main page) no longer exist...they've been deleted. mad jew could have made some of those posts (not that he would post anything worthy of deletion), but they don't count toward his post count. So the lower number would be the correct number to use.
