Half-life 2 (Garry's Mod) not working

Hi, I bought Garry's Mod to run on my MacBook C2D 1gb but it doesn't seem to work it goes to the loading screen then it goes black you can click one of the the menus but you you can only see some white lines.

start it with the argument "-dxlevel 7"
