I just got home from a week long vacation and noticed that *half* of HomeKit devices are not responding.

Anything Hue or WeMo is working fine.

Anything iHome and my ecobee will not respond through HomeKit.

I’ve tried restarting the devices, restarting my phone, removing them from HomeKit... but now I cannot re-add them to HomeKit.

Attempting to readd them to HomeKit through the device’s app generates an “unexpected error” message. Attempting to re-add them through the Home app just creates a never-ending spinning circle.

I can still control these devices through their apps, but HomeKit refuses to connect.

Any ideas as to what’s going on or how to fix it?

did you reboot your router / network gear,
and any HomeKit hubs (appletv, HomePod) you have?

I did reboot my router, but didn’t think of the Apple TV since I was on my local network. I’ll give it a shot when I’m home from work.

if a reboot doesn't work...
you might try adding them with the appleTV off,
in case somehow your devices are still paired to the aTV, which is keeping them from pairing to the phone.
