Well, now with the glass/glossy display on everything, we can kiss those annoying questions goodbye! (With the exception of people buying from used/refurb places.)

Personally, I'm sad at the loss of matte. I love it. But, all changes, and we'll get used to it!

So. You wanna know if you should get matte or glossy! GUESS WHAT!

Glossy.

I agree; I hate my glossy display. I don't like the reflections it gives under certain lighting conditions.

Now the question will be: "How can I get my glossy display to be a matte finish?" :)

I envision that market will grow! I know I would want some sort of filter on mine.

Although I probably would have chosen the glossy display anyways, I'm sad that I can no longer pick.

Yeah, my heart will always be with matte. It's just easier when it comes to light/reflections.

Maybe I should go into the matte filter business.

I personally can't believe they're not offering Matte displays anymore. Even worse, it seems like the new ACD is glossy as well! So much for catering to Pro users. Good job Apple.

as a photographer this is not the best news no.
as an extreme measure to others I suggest a very fine grain sand paper and see what you can do to get the gloss off the screen... ;)

haha. Very funny! The gloss is not "on the screen", the matte is "on the screen". But then this has already been debated so much. I agree with you that making a glossy screen into a matte would be somewhat like taking sandpaper to it. The glossy may give strong reflections in some situations, but it is "clearly" the more optically pure.

****! No more matte!!

Q: Are you going to have matte screens or just go with glossy glass ones? How about with reflection problems?

A: Just glass, and we’re going to compensate for the reflection from pushing more light through the back. And, since these are notebooks, you can position it any way you want.

WTF Apple WTF?!!
