Hi,

I'm currently ripping my DVD collection to use with Front Row, I have been using HandBrake to do this using AVI>H.264 encoding. Yet whenever I look at the files they are in a plain text file, the only way to view them is with VLC. Another rip I did with the same settings came out fine? I have no idea what exactly I am doing wrong?!

Also is there a way to disable DVD player from automatically starting when I insert a DVD many thanks.

EDIT: I found the answer to my question, when I retitled the DVD it gets rid of the ending codec '.avi' so this needed to be added to correct it. This is very frustrating when it take an 1:30 to rip a DVD! I was expecting much quicker speeds.

is there something better to use instead of h.264? OR is this the best quality in the available options?
