Hey, all!

So, with the hand-washing app, it detects your arm movement, then listens for the sound of running water, yeah? Does this 'listening' stay on-device?

Relatedly, does 'Hey, Siri' listening stay on-device?

Thanks!

You can opt out of sending any “Hey, Siri” recordings to Apple.

In regards to the hand washing app, I haven’t read specifically that it all goes to Apple. However, I am inclined to think that it does, and the same opt out will apply, unless Apple stipulates that by enabling the option, the user consents to this, that, and the other legal jargon.

Yeah, I found no support docs that details this app. Not yet, anyway.

I tried hand washing but, found it an irritant. It didn’t detect hand washing unless it was vigorous. It would also activate sometimes while I brushed my teeth . I now have it set to only remind me to hand wash upon returning home.
