My hand washing feature isn’t working on series 5 with watch os 7 beta. Is anyone facing similar issue ?

The irony of wearing a watch when washing one's hands as an infection control safeguard. The catchphrase in critical care areas, for quite some time, is bare below the elbow! Ideally if you are washing your hands during covid, it's best you take your watch off.

That isn’t the answer to my question.

You’ve given zero information enabling us to help. Have you enabled the setting, have you restarted your phone and watch?

ho ho, you've done the same.. that isn't the answer to the OP's question even though your 100% correct in what you've written 😄😉

I think the OP is waiting for 'Yes' answers to the question if anyone has the same issue and them I am sure the OP will then post a question asking how did they solve the issue.

I find that it does not always work and sometimes is delayed on starting too. I think it is a great idea, if Apple can get it to work flawlessly.

First day with hand washing reminder enabled and it hasn‘t alerted me the two times I have returned home today. Disappointing after trying to get the reminder toggle to work for several weeks.

I’m seeing the same. Installed the beta yesterday. On two occasions I’ve seen a glimpse of the countdown. When the face has been splashed but it’s then disappeared again.

Yes - definitely not consistent on getting the hand washing working. Apple has a lot of work to do before this goes live to the public. Would not be a feature I advertise if it only works a 1/4 of the time.

It would be good if you actually came back and gave us some more information. But to add to this, no it works 100% of the time on my series 5.

Mine used to work but it hasn't worked for the past few days. Haven't pursued it as a problem. It was cute but I certainly didn't need it.

I hate to be THAT guy, but I'm gonna do it......

I think this is THE DUMBEST most Insulting feature that Apple has yet to release.

How inept are we, that we need a timer with animation to tell us how long we've washed our hands??

This isn't a natch at the OP, and sorry to derail -- but sheesh......give us something useful like an Oximeter that will correlate directly to our present health status that we can't ascertain on our own.

What's next? A blinking / Breathing app????.....oh wait, there IS a breathing App. Equally useless.

Such pointless software when battery life is still an issue. GAH!

Good God man just chill. You don’t have to use the feature, you can completely disable it.

Insulting? Maybe
Dumb? Definitely not

You forget that basic hygiene isn’t used by everybody.

After having a job where I worked around a lot of people, it doesn’t take much to notice when somebody used the toilet and didn’t wash their hands. Hell I‘ve seen people with hands so filthy they was nearly pitch black. Now I personally don’t use the feature but I can see how it can definitely improve all of us as an collective.

In my opinion, if anyone genuinely finds this feature insulting then they have got bigger issues than worrying about unwanted features on a watch.

I tried mine for the first time, it works. But I turned it off. Hand washing timer doesn’t help me assist my health goals and achievements. The hand wash timer files right into the not for me category.

But yes it worked right from the start, first try. Latest iOS dev beta and public watch beta.

I was looking forward to trying out the hand wash app but, it is either invisible somewhere or Apple ran out of them by the time I did my upgrade. A few days ago I did the upgrade for the iPhone and the iPad. and there didn't appear to be any concerns. Last night I did the upgrade on the watch which is a Series 3. Initially I had problems with the phone complaining about not enough storage so sorted that and it took ages though had heard that wasn't unusual. When the download finished it was whinging about the Apple ID. I rebooted the watch and the Apple problem was sorted but still no sign of the hand wash app. Have rebooted the the phone but no difference. I thought i worked in the Series 3 but maybe not - don't know. If I have to live without it then that's not a major issue but as I had heard so much about it was looking forward to giving it a try.

The series 3 doesn’t support hand washing.
