I've read all I can find regarding these two database apps and they seem pretty similar with a few advantages/disadvantages for both. Can anyone who has used both comment?

I've used Handbase which is a very powerful relational dB. it's only downside is the desktop client is a bit of a pain, even more so on the Mac. However, another dB I use is Bento, which has a lovely desktop version, to which it syncs very well. Downside is that it's not a relational dB.

I've no experience of the other you mention but recommend both the above, depending on what your use is. Simple flat file type, then Bento. Proper relational type then HandBase is a must.

I have experience using all three. I find Tap forms to be the easiest to set up and maintain. HanDbase is very powerful but but I find it a little harder to manage.
