Handbrake causing odd screen issues after ripping.

I have used handbrake for years now, and I love the application. I've noticed over the past year though that each time I use it, I have odd issues with my graphics on my iMac.

Ghost images left from windows that were open. No visible icons when I use the Applications folder in the dock, Little lines left in the background of my desktop, etc.

I reboot, and it's fine, but it happens everytime.

I Mroogled a bit, and didn't really find anything on this issue...has anyone else seen this?

Any ideas on what might be causing it, and what I can do to remedy the situation?
