Handbrake & copying subtitles?

Ive just used Handbrake to copy my dvd of 'Downfall' so that I can put the movie file onto my iPhone. But it didn't copy any of the subtitles. Obviously I need to do it again selecting the relevant video file that has the subtitles, but I don't know which one.

Any advice please?

Are you inquiring about regular subtitles or forced subtitles?

Good question. I don't know the difference

regular subtitles are those you would see if watching a movie not in your native language, that is, all the dialog is foreign.

force subtitles are those where the movie is in your native language but a small amount of foreign dialog is spoken by someone in the movie, necessitating a brief display of subtitles so you can understand what they are saying.
