Well, now that Handbrak 0.9.0 is out, I want to start ripping movies to watch them on my TV.

I am using a non-high definition Flat Screen (not flat panel), non-widescreen TV. It does have component video inputs, and looks pretty sharp.

I will be streaming the music to my TV from my mac, and playing them via. an xBox 360 (with Connect360 software).

What settings should I use? I don't think I will have surround sound for another year, but I wouldn't mind ripping movies with 5.1 encoding just to be safe.

So, I basically just need to know what compression types, file sizes, etc. Thanks!

If file size is not an issue, I'd go with the preset name "Bedlam". High Quality for exactly what you want to do.
