I'm trying to encode my old will & grace DVDs but have had issues with the quality. Try any sort of encoding settings with the pilot episode (detelecine and decomb seem to help considerably) and look at graces hair in the opening scene. Also, look at the back of wills laptop while he's in his office. The hair has some weird blocky perimeter to it, and wthe back of wills laptop looks like a heavily compressed JPEG image. The DVDs were always pretty poor quality, both in images and construction (delamination is the primary reason I'm trying to archive them) but I was hoping there was a way to keep it from looking even worse.

Any ideas?
