How much memory would 5 hours of TV shows take up on my Blackbook if I used Handbrake?

Depends on the quality, depends on the filetype, depends on the compression, depends on the resolution.

Roughly a few gigs, from 2-4 gigs of HD space. It depends on the resolution of the video and encoding of it also.

Pretty vague question there, it depends on many factors:

    1. How big are they in their normal state?
    2. What quality are you wanting to retain?
    3. What compression settings are you wanting to use?
    4. How much space have you got to spare for this media?

Sometimes it requires some trial and error to get just the right balance, that balance depends on your standards.
