Handbreak & Snow Leopard (MacPro)

I've just started ripping a DVD using handbreak, my process has not changed in that I put the DVD in, open handbreak, choose my source and it scans in a matter of seconds. So far though in Snow Leopard it has taken upwards of 5 minutes and when it was done there were 5 tracks all under 2 minutes (5,6,9, 10).

I tried another DVD with the same results.

For this I'm on a Mac Pro (octo-2.8 etc etc).

Does anyone have any insight? I searched and found nothing on this specific issue.

Which version of Handbrake?

The latest. Now I'm just using fairmount then handbreak to convert.
