I have a large (176 gb) dmg file on my Windows 10 box that I want to put on my Mac Pro running lion. How would I go about setting up an Ethernet network between these computers to share this file, or is there a better way to handle this?

Thanks a bunch!

Thanks guys. I ended up making a homegroup on my windows box, running an ethernet cable from the mac to the 'dows, logging into the homegroup, and voila, file visible. 6 hour file transfer later, and I'm all good.

The external drive is a good idea and my first thought, the only thing that kept me from it was having to transfer 176 gigs twice.

Hi

I have simular issue, 10.8.3 on core i7 pro. win 10 on dell 1545 Core i3. cross over lan cable. I used http://www.ifelix.co.uk/tech/3027.html as a guide, and created and home group also, I can get the mac to see and enter the 10 but can not get 10 to see or enter the mac, I can not find any where in 10 to put the mack address and name. Any pointers I possibly have not create the home group 1000000% to doze specifications, which may not be helping. I got mac to enter 10, simply through ip over lan and a doze account name and password.
