When it was announced, Handoff seemed like a cool idea to me. Imagine working on something on my MacBook Pro, then picking it up on my iPad while in transit.

I had the impression that the file I'm working is somehow saved in iCloud the moment I close my MacBook Pro, then in transit, upon turning my iPad on, I will be able to see an icon to open that same file. Little did I know that this was not the case.

In order for Handoff to work, both devices sending and receiving the file should be turned on! Hence the name, Handoff, like, handing something from your hand to another person's hand, and both of you must be aware!

I now see the idea, and it works perfectly. If anyone is on the same boat as I was on this, I hope I enlightened you a bit.
