handoff shouldn't work... but does

using a 27 inch mid 2011 iMac (latest yosemite PB)... Didn't think this had the bluetooth capability for this.. I can never get it to work between apps, but today my iphone 6 rang and it popped up on my iMac. I tried to answer it but the other end couldn't hear my voice which was odd. Anyone had a similar thing happen?

What you're describing isn't actually Handoff.

Exactly as stated above.

Phone calls aren't handoff.

That should work on any Mac I believe.

Yes, phone calls and later texts use wifi, instead of Bluetooth.
So those two features will work on the older Macs as well.

It works even on my 2007 iMac lol. But the call quality is still bad.
