On iOS beta 4 and OS X Yosemite DP 4 Handoff worked like a charm

I was able to make and receive calls on my MacBook Pro, started E-Mails on my iPhone and continued on my Mac. And now since yesterday everything suddenly stopped to work.

Tried to disable/enable BT on the Mac on iPhone -> no success.

Tried to restart the devices -> no success.

Tried to disable/enable Handoff settings on the devices -> no success.

Tried to answer to the SMS relay dialog on the iPhone to yes -> no success.

Anyone else where handoff also as stopped to working since Beta 5 and DP 5?

Works fine for me. 2012 rMBP + 5S, with the same software version listed in the headline. Trying logging out of iCloud and back in on your devices. Also make sure you are signed into FaceTime on them too.

Can Handoff work with iOS 8 B5 with Yosemite PB1?

No. All of the devices are should be running the same Beta.

Is this just an educated guess or factual information?

Running Beta 5 and DP 1 the SMS Relay only works half way. (I can receive, just not send.)
Phone calls do not work at all anymore since Beta 5.

I've got an iPhone 4S so a lot of the Handoff/Continuity features aren't going to work I believe.

I *was* running iOS 8 beta 5 with 10.10 Public Beta 1. Most functions worked as expected, except Handoff. I followed all guides and various iterations on them. Based on your claim here, I even converted from PB1 to DP5 to match the iOS.

Unfortunately, handoff does not work for me, though other Mac <--> iPhone functions do (e.g. cellular calling initiated from Mac, SMS to/from Mac, etc.)

A lot of effort put into Handoff based on your statement. I hoped it was accurate. It may yet be accurate, but it is not a silver bullet.

I would LOVE an authoritative answer on this topic for the benefit of all those who may be trying to get Handoff to work and are wondering if their Public Beta is what is keeping them from success.

As I mentioned in a post just a moment ago, I converted from Public Beta 1 to DP5 to test whether Handoff started working when the beta #'s were the same for iOS & Mac. No joy.

(Yes, I have read and followed instructions for each setup step, etc.)
