all recent information has largely pointed towards a device that is identical to the iPhone 5s.

… and that's why I won't buy it. 🙂 Almost sold my 5s already, but might just as well keep it then.

Just like when u say Apple doesn't sell iPhone 6 cases anymore, but an iPhone 6s case will fit an iPhone 6.

Too bad, I want 4" but not that old design. Currently use iPhone 5S, it will feel awkward to upgrade to iPhone SE with 5S design. Is Apple Lazy?
