Are there double dins with resolutions higher than WVGA (800x480)? I tried searching but I’m not finding any options.

I recently purchased a super cheap Chinese double-DIN head unit from a somewhat-shady site for $125, that claims to have a resolution of 1024x600. It arrives today so we'll see how good it is for that price, but the YouTube review I watched says it's decent. Even if it kinda sucks, I'm only out $125, and it's probably still better than the ancient receiver I have now (purchased/installed in 2011).

The head unit itself, probably not, but with the many factory adapters out there, probably.

Some people may complain about the "wired" requirement, but given that I'm generally running Waze when I'm driving and that constant GPS connection chews through the battery like crazy - that doesn't seem like a big deal. My phone's going to be plugged in whether the Car Play connection requires it or not.

I was right there with you, until I got the iPhone X and a car cradle with built in Qi charger. Now, I want wireless :/
