I don't get it, why couldn't they just have done all this on iOS 11? It seems like this is their fifth try at a CC (it's been there for almost 4 years now? maybe more?), and they still couldn't nail it perfectly. Just chipping lazily away at it piece by piece with each iteration...
But then what would they show in iOS 12? :D

I was pretty underwhelmed by iOS 11 and High Sierra. Here's to hoping Apple spent most of the time with under the hood improvement like making Siri usable. I was pumped about what they are doing with their hardware. Their new focus on graphics is welcome news. Hopefully the eGPU developer kit is a harbinger of new hardware in the pipeline that isn't ready for prime time so they're going the eGPU route so developers can get a head start. Even if that's not the case official support for eGPU's is the next best thing. I don't need a gaming rig to be mobile but it would be nice, considering the cost, if Mac's past the entry level had respectable graphics cards.

Does the Bluetooth button take you directly to the Bluetooth settings page. That one seems like a no-brained because navigating three screens deep is really annoying to connect devices.
YES!! Also make the wi-fi button more than on/off, so I can select a different wi-fi network without having to dive into settings. Why? I'm at the airport and there's several choices. I'm at home and I have a more than one network. Etc. Etc.

This looks really nice. Unlike some above who though it looked ugly, I think it looks great. Although I don't understand why you can't just drag and drop them around. You shouldn't have to go to a completely separate section of the operating system in order to accomplish that.

That's really the only negative I have about it.

Both the look and feel of this as well as the App Store have seemed dated and bothered me for years. Happy both are getting addressed.

Says who? I highly doubt it's going to look much different than this come release date.
And I highly expect this feature to see the biggest change between now and GM, because in its current form it's an absolute mess. You can't even switch AirPod connectivity without going into the Bluetooth menu in settings. It's a visual distraction and horribly organized as it stands right now.

Wait, still no toggle for GPS? This is practically the only setting that I need to switch on and off multiple times during the day, and it's still buried in menus after so many years. Argh!

You will be disappointed. Long supporter and advocate of betas.
There is input lag at almost all aspects of the UI right now. Very very weird. just replying, not complaining ;) yet...

I still don't get why something like low power mode wouldn't be located in the settings toggles group at the top

Because Apple don't feel you should need to toggle this on and off a lot. Isn't it at most once per day/cycle? Not all settings need to go into control center.

Also, if you give your WiFi networks ludicrous names like I do, the expanded view won't properly clip their names

It's the very first beta version of the OS.

Yeah it will! I'm so happy about this. I have a 6S, but the 3D touch makes my fingers and joints hurt (yikes) so I had to turn it off.

Have you tried putting it on highest sensitivity? It's actually hard for me to long-press now since 3D touch is so sensitive, but it's great otherwise.

Why would you need that? You can control individual programs' use of location services and the GPS is only used when running a program which needs it. Also, you can see when it's used. I don't get it.

For me right now, the Bluetooth button doesn't do anything at all - it just flashes when I press it, but doesn't actually do anything such as toggle Bluetooth on or off like the other connectivity buttons do in the control panel

Agree - short touch for toggle on/off - long/force touch to take you into the settings would be great

I'd like to see a toggle to turn VPN off/on. Even if this was just for the default VPN that would be a big win for me personally.

They could have figured this out sooner, sure. I wish the Apple Watch had launched with WatchOS 3. Regardless of how long it takes, I think it's a positive sign that they do get to the right solution.

The one thing I ask for is just being able to change wifi access points from control center. This is one of my biggest gripes coming over from android along with siri.

all controls on page in Control Center. meh.. What do we even have a Settings screen anymore for?

To preserve battery life. I need GPS only for navigation, not for weather forecasts or whatever.

I agree. But it's not going to happen. Remember the outcry over the ugly iOS 7 icons? Everybody assumed they would be replaced in the final release. But here we are four years later still looking at that butt ugly camera icon.

The screenshots of the new control centre are already in the publicity material of iOS 11 so I'm afraid that's it in the looks department.

so can anyone who uses home for controlling lights describe the process of getting to your scenes and accessories? Does this control center revamp completely ruin that experience?

Uhhh anyone else notice at 01:19 when he's showing us the app switcher and he swipes through the open apps that the Control Center is moving off screen.... so if you've swiped over a few pages of running apps and suddenly decide you want to adjust a setting then you have to swipe all the way over to the right again to get to Control Center then swipe back to where you were in the app switcher. How annoying and impratical!
The Control Center should either be along the top (with the elongated controls made horizontal) or they fix the position of Control Center on the right hand side and make the open apps slide under it when swiping through them.
Hopefully they will address/fix this in the full release.

Good observation. That would be good to fix, albeit the scenario in which you would need to change a setting in the middle of switching apps might come up rather infrequently.

But of course the long touch which works for iPad won't work for iPhones without 3D Touch (e.g. iPhone 6) as uh uh uhm it does not have enough processing power for a long touch.

To achieve what I want in most cases, I have to 3D Touch buttons to get to a specific button. It’s a step back from the previous design.

Yes, I’m looking at just trying to turn a HomeKit enables light off.

Not a massive fan of the design overall though.

I'm still wondering why they have never had a settings button in Control Center. So you can get to settings from any home page. It makes so much more sense to have settings in a universal location rather than as an app icon on one of the home pages
