Now if Apple would let you have full manual control this might be interesting, till then this is just slapping cheap glass onto cheap glass. iPhone is for taking selfies not for anything serious. Canon actually killed their point and shoot line, others are following suit. iPhone Is the replacement and yet is garbage full auto camera. Until that changes this will just be a joke.

You can get apps that let you control the ISO/shutter speed etc.

They make lenses like these for point-and-shoots too. I have used them, and they're even more awkward. Used to have a tele on my Canon and it literally toppled the thing over because it weighed more.

It got me some good results though. Still ended up selling it.

I have been playing with the idea of getting a DSLR since I got out of high school. There are just better things in life that are better worth dropping that kind of money on. I don't take as many pictures these days either.

You could pick up a real cheap 2nd hand DSLR and lens. Go for it, you'll be amazed at the rests compared to an iPhone.

you never ever point polarizing filter directly into the sun :rolleyes::rolleyes:

the purpose of polarizer is to filter out reflected light and yields best results at 90 degree from sun... wish it was done properly, been waiting for a review of this kit, now have to look else where

If the iPhone camera juggernaut is all about convenience, this kit takes convenience out of the equation and hands it back to the point and shoot.

I look at that array of components in the article’s photo and then I look across at my small point and shoot that has all of that self-contained in one neat package.

In addition, the point and shoot offers superior handling over a slippery naked iPhone 6 with these dongles affixed to it. The point and shoot offers superior pre-shot control, and exceptionally better image outcome and I’m thinking - who’s going to buy one of those kits?

It's like, if your going to have to carry components in your pockets or in a bag to augment certain types of shots, how about bringing a small point and shoot along for all of the above benefits?

aha.. it's tempting, but i keep all my accounts/personal life unlinked (as possible). i'd recommend youtubing some examples (mine is the 2-in-1 fisheye/wide angle/macro octoclip for the i5). you'll see it's not astounding, but like i said, competent: just a fun option for people who like to get creative.

cheers

Would you consider uploading it to some video hosting site dissociated with you? You've piqued my curiosity.
