This will be awesome!! I’m SO sick of every single website I go to asking me if I want to agree to cookies. The internet is broken and I want these gone. Stupid European gdpr.
The European GDPR did not do that, the implementation of the sites that you use are perhaps not so smart. A well implemented banner would identify from which region you are and adapt the options and default applicable to you. That could even mean not showing it at all. But don't forget that privacy laws are wide and varied, in the US various states implement their own versions and different rules.

Yes the GDPR was ahead, and agreed privacy is important, but the USA is waking up and is also demanding similar and other measures.
I’m confused though; it hides the banner, but is that the same as accepting/declining all & does that mean a load of cookies are accepted / declined in one fell swoop?

This depends on how the site owner implemented it. Nothing is accepted unless the user specifically accepts it (all those "by using this site you are accepting our terms" are out of line), so a site behaving correctly would continue functioning as if the user had not yet made a choice.
Exactly, when a user is within an EU targeted region the only way to correctly implement is to reject everything bar functional cookies and services. That could also mean reject any kind of javascript. But if the system is region aware it would have different defaults for each user.

It would be so much better if companies behaved and do not track. Just for fun one should open an add on Facebook, or those kind of posts where the first reply is the link with the full story. The number of third party data processors is just crazy. Pure data mining content. I really wish it was enforced better as the default are often not correctly implemented.

That update to Photos looks shockingly horrible. This alone will prevent me from upgrading to the new OS. It blows my mind and saddens me how Apple just keeps moving further away from being the “user experience” company. They’ve truly lost all concept of ergonomics and usability.

lol we didn’t have privacy before GDPR? That’s laughable. GDPR has made almost anything to do with my data more annoying and unnecessarily complex. Privacy is a great thing, GDPR is NOT.
In which way is it more complex? If anything your rights are clear, and should be clear to any organisation you interact with and thus make it much easier.
