Thanks I was wondering if 16GB would help any. Wonder how much of a difference 8 vs 16 would be with 512
it's odd the tasks that chew memory. Firefox was hogging a lot when i checked. not that many tabs open either.

still didnt hit the wall with only 8G memory.

worth monitoring it and killing apps you dont need running. but we are all too lazy to do that these days ;)

I've found that different websites use significantly different amounts of RAM. This forums.macrumors.com site is one of the ones that can easily allocate 1GB of RAM over time. Sites with lots of ads are also RAM hungry. The browser will page unused tabs to SSD when needed.

I don't know much about Macs but learned CMD Q quit an app yesterday, so now I do agree it's laziness. It's not that hard to move two fingers a little distance

I've never used that key combo. LOL. Must try it. Thanks. I usually stick the copy paste combos and undo. ;)
But right click kill on bottom app taskbar is fairly quick too whenyou realise you have things open you really arent using. Which can be a lot over time. (Same on phones... when you swipe up and realise how many apps are sitting in the background ready to go when you need them...)

If you are interested in other shortcuts, here is Apple’s list. It’s pretty extensive. I only use a fraction but they are useful when I do.

I just bought the M2 MBA in Midnight with 16 gb RAM and 512 gb SSD storage. As a regular user, who won't be doing heavy editing, or any heavy work, at all, this configuration is probably more than I really need. The single NAND chip thing bothered me, about the base model. In fact, I initially purchased the base model, and suffered from Buyer's Remorse, so returned it, in favor of this one, after watching numerous review videos .I guess I did that backwards....LOL Very happy now, though.

Agree...However, rumoured 15 inch MBA to be coming out Spring 2023!
