What is so hard to understand about a discussion forum where people post their own opinions which other people can agree or disagree with?

You don't need to be discussion police. It's interesting to hear what a variety of people think.
Nothing wrong with posting an opinion. I have done so in this thread many times. I also haven't stated people shouldn't do the same. What I took except to was people denigrating the walk session just because they couldn't understand the purpose of something so lowly as walking and using the celebrity podcast with the new workout model.

This Fitness+ service gets more bizarre by the day. Everything I've seen so far could easily be replicated via YouTube workouts and walking while listening to a podcast.

I actually quite like it. I did the Shawn Mendes walk today and it is was nice and relaxing. They do describe the surroundings and you even hear them greet other people. It was a very relaxing walk. I could have listened to it longer as my walk went for 40 minutes. Well done Apple.

While I might not use this one much the fitness+ is a killer service. I have greatly enjoyed the workouts. Obe was nice but the workouts were not great.

What would make this even better would be the ability to put workouts on a calendar to plan a week out.

Yeah I agree. Calendar plans, class breakdown and plan and filters for muscles worked out. We need to know this to determine the right class for us, they can't all be generic!!

I would look at using this 'Time to Walk' feature if they were real life people who have made a difference, not just celebs/artists.

Same here. I enjoyed an evening walk and listening to his chat. It may be an odd feature, but it worked for me.

I did the Mendes one yesterday, and while I was underwhelmed (It was essentially a podcast that triggered a walking workout when you started it) I'm hoping that maybe it's the foundation for something akin to Nike's guided runs, although with their partnership I'm not getting my hopes up.

I feel like it's really hard to compete with audible and I don't like that this is a subscription (but than again it's not even available in Germany so what).
It’s not a subscription by itself. It’s a bonus for people who already subscribed to Fitness+, which launched in december and offers lots of other workouts such as core, strength or HIIT with videos made by instructors showing the exercises.

What stupid crap. I would never pay a subscription to hear more celebrity ********. 🙄
That’s not what Fitness+ subscribers are paying for. The subscribers to Fitness+, which launched in December, pay for videos of instructors conducting different types of workouts such as HIIT, Core or Strength (like short gym classes). Time to Walk is just a new added bonus for those that were already subscribed to Fitness+ before, it’s not by itself another standalone subscription. I wish people were more informed before making a comment like this one.

Don’t remove the feature from the Watch unless you never want to see it again, because I did and now I can’t find a way to bring the functionality back.
Did it also disappear from the Fitness+ tab in the Fitness app on the paired iphone? because Time to walk appears there too, not just in the Workout app on the watch.

Update: I see what you’re saying. Even after deleting on the watch, the time to walk episodes still show up in the iphone app as downloaded. Not to mention that even before deleting them, the ‘remove from watch option’ to individually delete each episode never worked. I’m sure this is not expected behavior and hope it’s fixed in the coming software updates.

Update 2: it did get fixed with the latest software update, iOS 14.4 & watchOS 7.3.

What kind of a monster isn't interested in listening to Dolly Parton? I'm kidding, but that's the first one I am going to listen to. I love listening to podcasts when I walk the dog. It makes his constant pee pauses more tolerable. I'm trying out Apple Fitness and mostly enjoying it, and this is a nice add-on, even if there are only a few of them I want to listen to. I appreciate that Apple tries to put some positivity out there, and it's great that it gives the Apple haters on this Apple forum something else to complain about.

I tried it, I liked it. Listening to someone else talk is a little more engaging than listening to music, for me. I like to take outdoor walks to break up my work day, not a replacement for "real" exercise when I prefer the AF+ coaching and good music. And AF+ coached workouts are not a replacement for my gym membership, when I like to do my own thing. Layers of healthy options are good.

This is like a mini podcast, but I have never done the research to find the good podcasts and never got in the habit of listening to them. This just popped up on my watch and was easy to try. Now I feel like I have to go take a walk if I'm interested in one of the speakers, and that's good for my health.

Regarding the complaint that on Day 1 there are only 4 choices, um, they will be releasing new ones every week. Not a valid complaint.

Personally, I love this idea. My 30 minute daily walks are usually at 5:30am and my wife is still out cold. That is a little too early to listen to some of the pounding stuff. Thus podcasts are usually my choice. This is a nice, slight, alternative to a podcast.

Suggestions for future guests? Forget celebrities, I would like to walk with some of the Apple big dogs that we never get to hear from. Sure Tim would be nice, but everyone wants a piece of him so we get to hear Tim a lot. But what about Jeff Williams, John Giannandrea, Deirdre O'Brien, etc.? I bet they would have some super interesting things to talk about. My first choice would be Lisa Jackson. She would not have to be coy with her answers like the rest of the folks trying not to let slip the next great thing. Lisa could probably walk & talk for hours about the amazing difference that Apple is trying to make with our environment.

Thanks for listening.
