I’m think about upgrading from my 12 Pro and deep purple is probably the color I would get. How is the weight difference? How’s the color, purple under some light conditions?
received mine at noon today. Purple looked really good. Putting on my “clear” Otterbox diminished the color. Still visible, just not as much.

I got my 14 pro earlier today and I have never had such an easy transition from my old phone to the new one! Even switching over my Apple Watch with Cellular was so easy!! Love the always on display as I don’t have a clock in my bedroom..but I do now!! Also, love the ”dynamic island”! Can’t wait to see what developers have planned for it. Bravo Apple!!!
AOD as a bedroom nightstand clock!?That’s brilliant mate! I turned it off but now the mornings get darker and colder due to autumn I’ll definitely be turning it on before I go to sleep as I just like you don’t have a clock in my bedroom, lol. The transition was absolutely bonkers easy. The iPhone 14 Pro isn’t the most revolutionary iPhone Apple has made but it is certainly the most refined and sophisticated piece of engineering feat to date. Very impressive. Enjoy your phone! Cheers!

For those of you, who currently own a iPhone Pro Max and we’re thinking about upgrading to an iPhone 14 Pro, you might want to rethink it.

I came from 11 Pro Max and I’m already noticing some issues with the way apps display information, the apps think that it’s a narrow screen, so instead of getting three items across that goes to two items across unless you go into your display settings and said it’s a standard and not zoomed.

Also, text messages seem to be a lot more narrow. I tried adjusting the font sizes, but that didn’t really make it better, just smaller.

In my opinion, the transition from iOS 15 on my iPhone 11 Pro Max to iOS 16.0.1 on my iPhone 11 Pro did not go well.

I did a secure back up on iTunes and restore on iTunes.

First, none of the Wi-Fi IP settings transferred over so I had to set that up again for a fixed IP addresses.

Second, I had to set up all the Bluetooth devices again.

Many apps had to be logged in again, and customization settings, were lost in those apps.

All my email was marked as unread, and I had several important email messages that were flagged and saved as unread from 2021 and all those messages are gone from my device.

I had to manually tap on every single app to get it to download over cellular. Even though I have the setting in the store sent to allow download over cellular. It just refused to work, I had this problem with iOS 15, as well.

Some of my apps display information in columns of three, and now, with the more narrow screen on the pro model, it only shows two columns.

iOS 16 still does not fix the bug where once your text messages are indexed and you search for them you tap on the result and it takes you to the last message instead of the message from the search, that probably been around forever.

I hate to say it, but I think the notch was a better idea, now I have this big pill at the top of my screen, and nothing can display above it or be useful, and it seems to just stand out. and the date on the top left is sitting there all by itself in this huge white area.

I had several apps that didn’t install because they’re not in the store so now I will have to sideload them again using configurator.

I’m sure as a fiddle new device. I’ll find me a bit more things missing or not working right.

What is with iOS 16 Putting in all these weird punctuation capitalization and commas. Ugh.

I was assured by the carrier that my AppleCare on my 11 Pro Max, which switch over to my 14 Pro and of course it did not. So now I have to deal with that and have it canceled for the other device and activated for this device.

I’m noticing a lot of apps have display issues on the new screen, things are being squished together or overlapping but that’s an app issue.

6 GB of RAM in this new device, and when I come back to Brave to view the form, it has to reload again from scratch.

iMessages is missing the "show contact photo" toggle switch and now I just see a list of text messages without the custom contact photo next to each message. From what I read online my screen is too small?
When I switch the screen back to standard view then that option reappeared. I guess I've lost my zoom view by buying a pro model.
The type is so tiny and brave browser that had to go into settings and set the default text zoom to 125% just to make it readable.
Apple needs to have more than just two settings for zooming in a need maybe two more choices.

I noticed on the iPhone 14 pro that they moved the mute switch from the right side to the left side. When I try to take a screen snapshot I'm pressing the side switch and the mute button instead of the volume button now, what a poor design.
They also moved the side switch down which can interfere with some car holders because it's squeezing there.
Update: never mind the switch. Idk why I think it was moved.

Just curious as to why you didn't upgrade to ios 16 on the old device first before migrating. These things are always a headache, but less so the closer it is to a 1:1 transfer.

I've learned a long time ago to hold out from upgrading to a .0 version, I've lost text messages and photos and apps don't work and things like that when there was a bugs in the software.
